Subject: Further Query
Hi June,
Thank you for taking the time to write a response, but
it does not answer the question.
I asked how motions are carried out. The motion was
passed in the month of June. By September, not only
was there no action taken by the RCA Executive
Committee, but the motion was lost from the reprinted
minutes.
What was the delay? How was the entire motion lost
from the reprinted minutes?
Are there procedures for following through on motions?
If there are procedures, what are they? If there is
an issue uncovered before a motion can be carried out,
how are Radburn Citizens notified?
Again, I am as delighted as anyone else that the young
man has been reimbursed, and that is not the point
here. The point is that 3 months time passed where
there was a valid RCA motion in front of the Executive
Committee, and the Executive Committee did nothing
about it.
I read the document you suggested, and see that the
Executive Committee should have acted after the June
meeting.
Please let us know the procedures that the RCA
Executive Committee is following, and please let us
know the path that is followed when there is a motion
that has passed the RCA.
SECTION 5 - EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: The duties of the
Executive Committee shall be to manage and conduct the
affairs of the organization between Citizens'
Association meetings, to carry out policies adopted at
Citizens' Association meetings, to initiate action on
community welfare and activities, and generally to
promote the purposes of the Citizens' Association.
a) Expenditures by the Citizens' Association up to One
Hundred dollars ($100.00) may be authorized by the
President with the concurrence of the Treasurer. From
One hundred ($100.00) to Five hundred ($500.00) must
be approved by the Executive Committee; amounts over
Five hundred ($500.00) must be approved by a majority
of the members present at any regular or special
meeting of the Citizens' Association.
Thanks!
Joan
