Open Letter to all Radburn Residents:
I was shocked and appalled to find out that the Radburn Citizens
Association (RCA) meeting of February 21,2007 was canceled
with 3 of the 4 democratically elected officers not allowed
to vote on the cancellation. Although I am sorry to hear June
Meyerson is ill, Ms. Meyerson's self-appointed committee chairs
decided that the meeting should not take place. Neither Ted
King, Vice President, Christine Nunn, Secretary, or Han Broekman,
Treasurer, were consulted prior to any action and were told
in so many words that their votes were not needed.
According to the RCA's By-laws, the Vice President, in this
case Mr. Ted King, is required to perform the duties of the
President in his or her absence. That's a fact but in the
words of one individual who stood outside the Radburn Grange
to ensure no one would attend that evening's meeting, "And
you ask why don't we trust Ted King and all who support the
status quo???? "
Why were Mr. King, Ms. Nunn and Mr. Broekman NOT contacted
by Ms. Meyerson? Why were a group of individuals, six of them
litigants in the lawsuit against the Radburn Association,
able to get together, sign a cancellation of meeting flyer
and distribute it WITHOUT notice to or vote of the 3 aforementioned
DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED officers of the RCA? Why were Robert
Gulack, Kathy Moore and others on the steps of the Radburn
Grange the evening of February 21 to ensure that a meeting
did not "secretly" occur?
Clearly, the advocates for Democracy! within Radburn don't
see the same principles applying to their actions or agenda.
They are not a group of individuals who only seek "Democracy
and Transparency" in Radburn. They are a politically
motivated group who have one agenda: POWER in Radburn AND
Fair Lawn.
I urge you to write to Ms. Meyerson and demand an answer
to this question: why are you not upholding the same fundamental
principles you are currently suing the Radburn Association
for which you allege they have not done?
Sincerely,
Stuart Pace.
