Mr. Don Morris
President Radburn Board of Trustees
Dear Mr. Morris:
We look forward to an open and informative meeting April
9th and urge you to include in the agenda issues of critical
importance to all Radburnites in order that the meeting be
meaningful and productive. Factual explanations from the Board
would go a long way towards quelling the rancor in the community.
First and most urgent is an explanation of the facts regarding
the 37% increase in assessments to cover increased legal expenses
and clarification of exactly how that money is being applied.
At present there exist confusing counter explanations and
rumors that have seriously divided the community and it would
be useful and informative for the Radburn Trustees to clear
them up.
Second for the long term welfare of Radburn is the concern
of South Side homeowners about not being represented on the
Board by one or more of their neighbors. This has intensified
since the announcement of the sale of Daly Field. The planned
development of the Daly and Hayward properties has greatest
impact on the South Side homeowners and they should have some
representation. Surely there are many qualified South Side
residents whose participation would contribute to the healing
process. There is a need to know why so very few South Side
homeowners have ever served on the Board and be reassured
that you are working to correct that situation.
Time permitting there are several other very important matters
that beg for open and honest communication such as the process
for selection of a new Manager and the counter lawsuits against
litigant homeowners, but the two subjects named above deserve
your utmost consideration. Radburn homeowners, especially
those opposed to the secret sale of Daly Field and the unsatisfactory
explanations that followed from your end, have to hear straight
talk from the Trustees or you can be certain that the tensions
in this community will escalate to the point that the healing
we devoutly wish for may never come. There is no better time
than right now for the Trustees to fulfill their sworn service
to the people of Radburn. To evade these issues would be a
dereliction of duty by the Board.
Respectfully,
[signed by 20+ southside residents]
